Imagine if YOUR child was on this Israeli school bus targeted in today's terrorist attack
April 7, 2011
Dear Friend
As today's news  of the latest terrorist attack specifically targeting innocent Israeli children on a school bus came amid news of the school children killed by a crazed gunman in Brazil,  how could I not be propelled to action.   I kept looking at the above image through tears of intercession for the injured as well as of thanksgiving for the lives that were spared by a few minutes by the Grace of God.  Even battle- hardened soldiers oftentimes find it difficult to overcome the trauma of being under enemy fire.  These are children.  Innocent and DEFENSELESS children. They are not supposed to have to endure these kinds of traumas while doing the most normal of activities, daily going to and from school.  Read the account of the Israeli attack below.  Then, as the title suggests, imagine if YOUR child had been on this school bus. Would your prayers be the same or would they be even more fervent? What would you be prepared to do, and to give, to bring joy back into their lives IF they had survived?  If these were your children?
Teen critically hurt in Negev terrorist attack

An anti-tank guided missile shot from the Gaza Strip directly hit a school bus outside Kibbutz Sa'ad in the Sha'ar Hanegev Regional Council on Thursday, injuring two people, a 13-year-old boy and the bus driver.
Police have said that in the span of 3 hours, at least 45 mortars were fired from the Gaza Strip into the western Negev today after the school bus attack.  Teams of social workers and psychologists entered the council to provide support to residents. All residents and their families were asked to remain in protected areas.
A Sha'ar Hanegev spokeswoman said that the bus was transporting children home from school. Most of the children got off the bus just minutes before it was hit. The critically wounded teenager was airlifted to Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba where he was undergoing surgery. Soroka officials said that he was suffering from severe head injuries and remains in very critical condition.
UPDATE  April 18, 2011:
Tragically, Daniel Viflic, the 16-year-old teenager wounded in this attack, has died.
