ESM…The Extra Suitcase Ministry

If you or your tour group are planning a visit to Israel, we encourage you not to come empty-handed but to come bearing gifts that you can leave behind as a blessing and as a sweet smelling incense until the LORD. By taking advantage of free shipping, you could make a lot of children happy for a very long time. Why not volunteer for this very rewarding and literally, ‘hands-on’ ministry? In addition to the benefits on this end, it would no doubt add tremendously to the joy and the anticipation of your trip. Think about how much you would spend on your trip to Israel (airfare, lodging, food, etc.). What would happen if you committed to donating 10% or even 5% of the cost of your trip to this project and used that to bring an extra suitcase stuffedwithkidsstuff? What could be better? It has never failed, those persons who have taken advantage of this wonderful opportunity always come back to say how BLESSED and excited they were as they shopped for the items to fill their Extra suitcase and the prayers they prayed for those who would receive each one. They thanked us for suggesting it to them.

How does it work?

First of all, keep in mind that if you are coming from the United States (and even some European countries) EACH traveler is allowed to ship TWO pieces of luggage at 50 pounds each piece. In addition, you are allowed to bring a good size carry-on bag. Most tourists find that they only need one suitcase for their personal items during the short time of their stay here in Israel.
Why let the other allowance go to waste? Please consider bringing the extra suitcase or box stuffed with very nice and interesting items for children. These should be ONLY NEW items. (PLEASE DO NOT SEND USED TOYS, TEDDY BEARS, OR CLOTHING as we cannot accept these.

It helps us many ways:

1. It saves the ministry a lot of money in postage and other fees that can be very expensive.
2. It allows the ministry to get things that are either not available here in Israel or that are much more expensive here because they have to be imported.
3. It allows the ministry to have a constant supply of goods on hand so that we are ready at a moments notice to respond in an emergency.

Please contact us for a list of those things that we could use for the children. In addition to items for the younger children, we are in need of gift items suitable for adolescents and teenagers...both girls and boys. We would be very happy to communicate with your tour company to coordinate this.
In addition, even if you are not planning to come to Israel yourself, you can still be an active participant in this ministry by making a generous donation to Hugs for Israel designated to the ESM that would allow us to purchase fantastic items to be added to the suitcases of others who are coming.
